Why Won't My Sliding Screen Door Roll or Stay on Track?
Screen doors fail from worn wheels, a bent frame or a bad track — usually not the screen itself.

The usual causes
Sliding screen doors are light, so they get knocked out of square easily. Sand, pet traffic and the Florida sun wear out the small plastic wheels, and once a wheel cracks the door drags or pops off the rail.
- •Drags or scrapes: worn or broken wheels
- •Jumps off the track: wheels set too low or a bent frame
- •Won't latch: frame out of square or loose latch
- •Gaps at the edges: bent frame or missing spline
What you can safely check
Vacuum the screen track and look for broken wheel pieces. Don't force a bent frame back into place — aluminum screen frames kink and then can't be adjusted. See our sliding door screen repair page for what we fix on site, including new wheels, rescreening and frame adjustment.
