What Happens During a Sliding Door Repair Visit?
The visit starts with inspection, not automatic replacement. We assess the moving panel, running rail, locking and any separate glass issue.
Need it fixed instead? See our sliding glass door repair service, or use our free estimate form. Standard repairs run $99–$375 per panel; impact doors need a free onsite estimate.
First: inspect the door as a system
We discuss the symptom and inspect the panel, frame, rollers, track and locking. Heavy movement, a repeated catch and a latch that misses can share an underlying alignment problem, or reflect separate faults. A photo or noise alone does not establish which parts need replacement.
An unstable panel or damaged glass changes how the opening can be handled safely. Impact-rated panels also need a free onsite assessment because weight, compatible hardware and access affect the work.
Next: explain options and confirm the price
A serviceable door may need compatible rollers, rail work, alignment or lock hardware. A cap is appropriate only when the underlying track supports it. Glass replacement and full door installation are separate options, not automatic additions to a roller repair.
We explain the recommended work and agree on the price before starting. Parts availability and access can affect whether the repair is completed during that visit; inspection is not a guarantee of a universal stocked part. Read about roller replacement or impact repair.
After approved work: check operation
After hardware work, the panel's travel, position and latch engagement are checked. Repairing the wheels does not certify hurricane performance or resolve every glass or drainage issue. If another part of the system needs attention, it should be discussed separately.
For Pembroke Pines, Weston, Dania Beach or Hollywood, start with your symptoms and any community access requirements. Review our warranty terms for applicable repair coverage and exclusions.
What it costs: $99–$375 per panel for standard repairs
On a standard residential sliding glass door, our repairs run $99–$375 per panel depending on the parts and labor involved. The estimate is free and you get the price before any work starts.
Impact doors need an on-site estimate
Impact-rated (hurricane) sliding doors are a different job. The panels are much heavier because of the laminated glass, the rollers and tracks are often brand-specific, and the frames are built to strict Florida code. Two impact doors that look the same can need very different parts and labor.
That's why we don't quote impact doors over the phone. We come out, look at the door, check the brand, the panel weight, the track and the rollers, and then give you an exact price. The on-site estimate is free.
